Northern Maine offers a diversity of activities for both children and adults on summer vacations. At Hewes Brook Lodge we offer the tranquility of
Fish River and the North Maine woods. Adults can settle back into a lounge chair and read a great book while the kids are out swimming or playing a

Fish River offers a wonderful opportunity for canoeing and kayaking for both the novice and the enthusiast. Starting at Fish River Falls, the
river continues for 24 miles with varied classes of whitewater.
At Portage Lake there is a great sandy beach, and a golf course nearby. If you are out for a scenic ride, view the rolling hills
and open expanses of Aroostook County. Sightings of moose, deer, and an occasional black bear are common. Should you want shopping at the mall or
to see a movie, Presque Isle and Caribou are just an hour away.
